Mary Virginia Miller, CPA, Managing Partner
Mrs. Miller is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the
State of Texas since 1982. As Managing Partner and twenty-five year
member of the firm, Mrs. Miller is fully committed to
continue our company's tradition of excellence. She holds a
Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Sam
Houston State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in August
1981.
Mrs. Miller has more than thirty years of experience in the
accounting field. Her public accounting experience includes
income, estate, and gift tax planning and compliance for high
net worth individuals, federal and state tax planning for
businesses, and for estates and trusts. She works closely with
families structuring Family Limited Partnerships in order to
provide efficient and profitable management of family businesses
and real estate. She has also done substantial litigation
support, working with attorneys and clients in both business and
family law litigation. Her litigation work has included tracing
and characterization of assets, property settlement analysis and
exhibits, and investigative accounting. She has worked as both
a consulting expert and a testifying expert.
Prior to joining the firm, she worked in Texas school district
accounting, training district personnel in the use of state
mandated accounting systems. She also worked in the savings and
loan industry, first as an internal auditor for multiple branch
on-line accounting. She later wrote on-line processing manuals
for savings personnel, trained tellers, and instituted and
enforced daily reconciliation procedures.
She is a member of the AICPA, TSCPA, and the Houston Chapter of
the TSCPA, where she served four years as vice-chairman of the Committee on
Cooperation with the State Board of Public Accountancy. A Rotarian for
fifteen years, Mrs. Miller is a Past-President of the Rotary Club of Conroe,
a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, and former Assistant Governor of Rotary District
5910. She is married to Champe W. Miller. They have four children, daughter Carrie
and son-in-law Marc Cornelius, both serving in the U.S. Marine Corps; son
Charles Stocker, a recent graduate of Texas A&M, and new U.S. Marine and
daughter-in-law Kelsey; son Matthew Miller, a recent graduate of Babson
College, and financial analyst in Boston; and daughter Morgan Miller, a new
freshman at Texas A&M.
Her leisure activities include
hunting and fishing, reading, and photography.
